EYSENCK’S PERSONALITY IDENTITY (EPI)

– Hans Eysenck is a German psychologist.
– EPI is a statistical technique of factor analysis, viewing personality in 3-dimensional.

– 3 Dimensional view:

1. Neurocriticism
2. Extraversion/Intraversion

 – Neurocriticism is divided into stability (calm, even-tempered, reliable) and unstability (moody, anxious, unreliable)
– Neurocriticism is genetic basis. 2 identical twins shows the same neurocriticism identity.
– Extraversion (Happiness) and Intraversion (Research Interest)
– An introvert shows that he is more physiologically aroused, is conducted easier, and socially inhibited.

– EPI is based on theories stated that

“Personality is stable over time and consistent across situations”

– Dispositional approach to stability & consistency in a relatively enduring personal characteristic are called “types” and “traits”
