- Related to Central Nervous System
- We can try to change our temperament, but it will not.
- In difficult times, we reveal our temperament.
EYSENCK’S PERSONALITY IDENTITY (EPI)
- Hans Eysenck is a German psychologist.
- EPI is a statistical technique of factor analysis, viewing personality in 3-dimensional.
- 3 Dimensional view:
1. Neurocriticism
2. Extraversion/Intraversion
- Neurocriticism is divided into stability (calm, even-tempered, reliable) and unstability (moody, anxious, unreliable)
- Neurocriticism is genetic basis. 2 identical twins shows the same neurocriticism identity.
- Extraversion (Happiness) and Intraversion (Research Interest)
- An introvert shows that he is more physiologically aroused, is conducted easier, and socially inhibited.
- EPI is based on theories stated that
“Personality is stable over time and consistent across situations”
- Dispositional approach to stability & consistency in a relatively enduring personal characteristic are called “types” and “traits”
- Correlation with types/traits identified by Hippocrates and Galen:
